events and weather in NYC

Hello World NYC! I come to you with some bittersweet news. Due to some big changes to Launch House this past week, David will no longer be writing IRL NYC. You can keep in touch with him on linkedin and by listening to his podcast Inspired State of Mind. Also, he's doing a bit of content marketing consulting (he was the brains behind a lot of LH content!) - check that out here.

The other bit of news is that I, Brett Goldstein, am moving to NYC (NoHo specifically) on Wednesday! Which means for the time being, Jason Levin (brains behind our other publication, Homescreen) and I will be tag teaming IRL NYC!

So, given I just moved here, what are the first restaurants (or other places) I should hit up??

WHAT'S POPPIN IN NYC

monday (3/13)

  • The Miyoko Oto Exhibit - Thank you to the New Yorker for this find (turns out they have more than just tote bags lol). Miyoko's beautiful paintings are on exhibit in Chelsea until April 15. I'll be stopping by this week.

  • A Night of Engineering Horror Stories - Come by Union Square Ventures for a night of spooky engineering horror stories. The scariest bug stories you can imagine.

tuesday (3/14) - HAPPY PI DAY

  • AI, ML, DS, Quants - I suck at math but maybe you don't. Sign up to hang out with leaders from Two Sigma Ventures, Google, and DoorDash.

  • DeSci NYC with Martin Shkreli - The most infamous mad scientist in New York is talking all things decentralized science hosted by DBDAO.

  • PI DAY DEALZ - reminder that it's Pi day so you can get pies for cheap all over the city

  • Pi DAY EVENTZ - not too sure about these but there's one with puppies so maybe check that one out.

As part of the changes, we're shutting down the Chelsea clubhouse. If you're looking for awesome office furniture and such lmk! We'll have something next week on this.

WEATHER

Honestly this was not quite the weather I was looking for, but I'm moving to NYC from sunny (albeit rainy recently) LA so its all down here from here.
